The George Strait Team Roping Classic started today, March 14th. There were 483 teams entered in the roping. The cowboys who roped the fastest steers in the 1st go-around were:
1.Camish Jennings/Brandon Bates 4.36 Seconds $15,540 team winnings
2.Kevin Daniels/Brad Culpepper 4.38 Seconds $9,324 team winnings
3.Jake Barnes/Cory Petska 4.52 Seconds $6,216 team winnings
Out of the 483 teams entered, 227 teams caught their first steer under the 11 second cut-off time. This let these teams advance to the second go-around. When the 2nd go-around is finished, the top 50 teams will advance to the 3 head average, tomorrow. This is where most of the money, trucks, trailers, and all the prizes are up for grabs.
